Joe "Jiggs" R. Alvarez, Sr.Resident of San Jose Jan. 15, 1922 - July 29, 2010Joe reunited with his loving wife Mary and son Joe Jr. on July 29. He leaves behind his devoted and loving son Neil "Buddy" & daughter-in-law Rita. Cherished by 5 grandchildren, Joe III (Alicia), Teresa (Mark), Denise (Jesse), Michael, Jose & 12 great grandchildren.Born in Tempe AZ Joe, WWII Veteran,1st Marine Division, Silver Star and Purple Heart recipient moved his family to San Jose in the 50's and owned Alpha Beta Meat Co. Known as a man of great courage and love for his family he was also a friend to many. Vigil to be held Aug 2nd, 7pm at Lima Family in SJ. Mass 11 am Queen of Apostles Church, S.J.
