McELRATH, Lisa Marie - Of Mt. Morris, age 45, died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. The funeral service will take place 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris, with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Lisa's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to the family for the future Lisa Marie McElrath Scholarship Fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Lisa was born April 23, 1965 in Flint, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry and Janet (Schlieger) Simonye. She and John E. McElrath were united in marriage September 13, 1986 in Flint. Lisa was a graduate from U of M - Flint with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She taught 4th and 5th grades at the International Academy of Flint. Lisa enjoyed spending time with family and friends, teaching, traveling, reading, gardening and going to the casinos. 'To cherish her memory, Lisa leaves husband, John; three children, Ashleigh, Alyssa and Joshua McElrath; mother, Janet Simonye; two brothers, Larry and wife Ruth Simonye, and Kevin and wife Viki Simonye, and their two children; Faith and Caleb; mother-in-law, Mildred McElrath; grandmother, Dorthea Simonye; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
